In-ho’s reaction was immediate and entirely In-ho. “I didn’t realize smiling was a prerequisite for buying flowers.”
“It’s not,” Gi-hun replied. “But it wouldn’t kill you to try. Probably. I mean, I’m no doctor, but I think the human face can handle it.”
For a moment, In-ho said nothing. Gi-hun half-expected In-ho to deliver some cutting remark that would send him scurrying back to his roses, but then... In-ho’s lips twitched. It was subtle—barely there, like the ghost of a smile—but it was enough to make Gi-hun’s heart do a little victory lap.
“Noted,” In-ho said as he took the bouquet and turned toward the door.

The Front Man’s gaze softened for a fleeting moment, his voice unexpectedly gentle. He barely stopped himself from reaching out to Gi-hun, as if to reassure him.
“But I don’t want you broken, Gi-hun.” The words seemed to surprise even him, and he quickly masked the softness with his usual cold composure, silently thanking the stoic black mask he wore to conceal any trace of vulnerability.A brief silence stretched between them, the air thick with unspoken words. Both men stood still, eyes locked, each one waiting for the other to make the next move.
Gi-hun’s chest tightened, a surge of anger rising in him as he spat,
“What do you want, then?”
