Hermione decided to change the subject. “Why do you think The Blind Cupid found us compatible?”
She was curious, because honestly, this felt like a match made by Professor Trelawney, and yet… It hadn’t been a bad date.How was this possible? They’d talked and laughed together, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy, who would’ve thought.
Hermione expected that Malfoy would snort and complain about the agency, or perhaps joke about the wrongness of it. Instead, she found his eyes on her.
Not the panic she’d seen in the blue eyes as soon as they saw each other, not the painful look he’d given her when she asked about the war. There was something else in the way he stared at her know, something that made her very aware of herself and yet very comfortable in her own skin.
“I don’t know.” He said, and his voice was slightly husky. “But I’d like to find out.”
