A terminal disease brought on the sufferer by their feelings of unrequited, unresolved love, that causes the sufferer to cough up flower petals or whole flowers, and destroys their lungs causing internal bleeding. It can only be cured by the love being returned, or the sufferer falling out of love. The origin of the illness is unclear, although legend has it that if a powerful love is suppressed for too long, with no other way of fulfillment, it begins to blossom as a flower in the victim's heart, planting roots in the victim's lungs.Legend has it that it's a curse brought onto unfortunate victims by the Goddess for opposing her will.
