Sequel to Novocaine for the Soul — Gerard has no intention of catching feelings at his age, which would be a helluva lot easier if Frank wasn’t hot enough to reconsider.
Frank definitely falls into the admirer camp; there’s no point pretending otherwise. He already made that fact public information when he found Gerard in the crowd at the Harvest Festival, crooning straight to him with enough intent to make coincidence an insult.
And okay, fine, so Frank wants him. That hardly makes the guy a pioneer.
The part that matters is what happened after the set — when Frank walked over and didn't treat Gerard’s face like it was the only interesting thing about him.

"It becomes quickly apparent after they wake up that this is not drugs. Whatever it is, it’s much weirder.
Much, much weirder.
They sit at the front of the bus around the shitty table with Mikey, Ray, and Bob to explain as much. Because guess what? No one else got drugged. Gerard is pretty certain there’s some level of shared tour hangover happening at the table, but it’s not making the rest of the band hold hands.
Which is what they’re doing. Him and Frank that is. It became very quickly apparent that being separated is the cause of the headaches. Even just the closed door of the bathroom had nearly knocked Gerard to his knees. Bile thick on the back of tongue from the agonizing pain of Frank being just on the other side of it."
Or
Frank and Gerard get cursed and cannot separate. Forced proximity, but make it magical.
