“Okay, okay,” Mike replied, the venom almost tangible in his voice. “Carlton, your boyfriend. Don’t worry, next time he comes over, I’ll talk to him.”
Will raised his eyebrows, momentarily confused, but murmured a doubtful “Thank you?” hoping that Mike’s tone was just confused and that his intentions were genuine.
“You’re welcome. Next time he comes over, I’ll tell him to leave.”
