    Olivia found herself looking over Peter’s shoulder towards the ambulance, catching Elliot’s eye as the detective watched them from across the street. Bell had returned to his side, speaking with him as she scrolled through her phone but she could tell he wasn’t listening. His focus was entirely on her and Peter, his expression unreadable from this far. She swallowed thickly, shutting her eyes and turning to tuck her head against her boyfriend's neck.

    Her breathing stuttered as her heart skipped a beat when the image of Elliot’s arms around her protectively like this quickly surfaced in her mind and found herself clinging onto Peter even tighter, momentarily shocked about having those old feelings reemerge right now.
