While working at a brothel wasn’t Vi’s first choice among all the available jobs down at the Lanes, she couldn’t deny that it paid considerably more than what she was used to. In fact, when Babette handed over her earnings for her first day, she briefly wondered if there was a calculation error before hastily taking it without any questions.
Money was tight, as it usually was in Zaun, but it was even tighter now ever since Vi was laid off from her job. Not only that, but her dad’s bar hadn’t been doing too well the past few months, so she was getting pretty desperate to find a way to keep herself and her family afloat. Somehow or another, she ended up at the doorstep of one of Vander’s old friends.

Minghao twists his lips like he knows. He doesn't like Seungcheol keeping things from him. Funny, how the tables turn. "Can I visit again?"
Seungcheol thinks about what Minghao asked a year ago, how he said no when it was actually a yes. He thinks about Kkuma, who he can't take on long walks anymore, who might've been better off with his brother, who is the one thing he let himself keep.
