His other brothers say he just doesn’t care.
He actually does – but that might just be himself trying to contradict them for the sake of his own satisfaction – but just not in the way they think he does. In the park, buried in the filthy mud and dead grass and remains of trees, there’s more self-awareness to him that he’s willing to deal with.
It’s just too much for him and his nature.Maybe, if he were dead, then he wouldn’t have to deal with all of this.
(Or, in which Ichimatsu's selfishness and ignorance come at a price.)
