Summary
Yudai never planned to open a shelter.
But after years of watching kids fall through the cracks, he couldn't just sit by anymore.
He rents a run-down house on the edge of the city, hoping for a quiet place to heal. Instead, kids start showing up, each with their own pain and stories. The house is messy and noisy, but it becomes a home for them all.
When Fuma arrives and brings something new to Yudai's life, the kids do everything they can to keep him around.
Though they're not very good at being subtle.

“Do you see that, Taki?” Harua whispered conspiratorially.
Taki followed his gaze, nonplussed, to where Yudai and Fuma were talking. His mama seemed to be having a good time, laughing at some joke the other man had made.
“My papa… and your mama…” Harua said meaningfully, eyes wide, but Taki still didn’t understand what he was trying to say.
“Yeah,” Taki said, clueless. “They seem to be friends.”
Harua sighed, annoyed, before shaking his head. “But what if they can be more than friends?” he asked in a whisper so low Taki barely heard him. “They could get married! And we…” Harua grinned. “We would become brothers.”
Taki’s eyes lit up. He’d never had a brother before, and being brothers with Harua would be so cool. “We’d be like twins,” he said gleefully. “Y’know, ‘cause our birthdays are so close?”
Harua nodded, his smile full of mischief. “But for that…” he said, turning towards their parents again. “We need to make them fall in love.”

A faded billboard loomed overhead, its cheerful message—“Welcome to Tokyo! The Future Awaits!”—mocking the desolation below.
