Summary
“Do you ever think,” Chan begins, voice barely audible, “that some people are just meant to love more than they’re loved back?”
Hyunjin pauses, then nods softly, eyes thoughtful. “Yeah… I guess sometimes that’s true.” He shrugs, a small, rueful smile playing at his lips. “But that doesn’t mean that some people don’t care, yeah?”
Chan swallows hard, smiles like he swallowed glass. “Yeah.”
His answer must’ve given him away, because Hyunjin’s really looking at him now, gaze lingering longer than it should. Another beat passes. And Chan can tell Hyunjin knows something’s off. Maybe not the whole picture, but still something.
“Aye, hyung,” he says quietly. “It sucks you feel like that. But… you’re not invisible, y’know? Besides, most people aren’t that clueless.”
Except maybe you. Chan thinks affectionately.
