Summary
“We can be gross. Boys are always gross. Be as gross as you want. I’ll like it, I swear.”
Julie’s nose wrinkled as she laughed. As much as he said that now, she’d known Luke for a long time and absolutely could not picture him willingly engaging in the level of public gross-ness she’d find ideal for their newfound relationship. Images flashed in her mind of the two of them attending football games together, him leaning entirely against her in the stands basically begging to be cuddled. Him propped against the lockers talking with Alex and Reggie, arms wrapped securely around Julie holding her against his side so she could just exist in their presence. Her sat in the cushion of his lap under the big tree out front, lounging with both their friends for an outdoor lunch in which they both shared all their favorite snacks and Luke’s fingers drew tickly little patterns across her knee just as an additional point of contact.
Her face lit on fire at that last one. Too far, Julie. Too far.

Who gave her boyfriend the right to be this way?
Julie had been grumpy when she woke up that morning. The last few months, she’d grown used to being gently coaxed awake by sweet, slow kisses against her face and neck and shoulders rather than the harsh blare of her iPhone’s alarm that she didn’t even realize it belonged to her when it initially blasted through her consciousness. Then, when she finally came to the realization that it was her alarm, she blindly fumbled her hand across the bed in search of the warmth of Luke’s body so that she could nudge him into turning the offensive sound off.
Her search for warmth turned up empty, and she peaked a bleary eye open to look for him across the rest of the room.
He was nowhere to be found.

Summary
If she were being realistic, Julie should’ve known that performing with the boys would bring on certain attentions she hadn’t really considered for them in the past. Reggie was her brother, for Christ’s sake. The last thing she really wanted to picture was him macking on some girl he’d been making eyes at during their performance.

Summary
Luke supposed that he and Julie had always been big on casual affection. They’d gone months desperately wanting to hold each other without being able to, so when they’d finally gained the ability to do so, it just seemed to come naturally to the two of them. Why waste time not doing what they wanted when there was no guarantee his solidity would last?
Fortunately, the corporeal form seemed to be a permanent development these days. It had been months since Julie had hugged the boys and somehow saved them from the jolts that would have wiped them from existence, and they'd been more or less solid beings ever since.
And Luke had always been physically affectionate with his boys, so why not Julie, too? Julie, who was the human embodiment of music and very likely his soulmate across lifetimes. And yeah, they were definitely too young for that to even be a thing he vocalized to her, but how could she not be? She was everything.

The sound of the front door smacking into the wall startled Luke out of the episode of Friends he’d been watching, and he blinked in bewilderment as he looked toward the entryway of the house he and Julie had moved into just last month.
Tonight was her bachelorette party, and Flynn had been totally adamant that all the party attendees would be sleeping over at her apartment after their night of festivities. So needless to say Luke was surprised when the door slammed open at nearly 2 am to reveal Alex and Flynn flanking either side of his fiancée.
And then she let out a heart wrenching sob.
