Summary
When Geralt enters a tavern after dealing with a monster contract, he finds a bard singing bawdy songs that impart some very inaccurate information about succubi. He's just been turned away from the local brothel for being a witcher and wants to drown his sexual frustrations with alcohol, but Jaskier proposes that Geralt should tell him all about monsters instead and help him to write more accurate ballads.
One thing leads to another, and it turns out that the bard performs in more than one way for his work, which leaves Geralt baffled as to why this courtesan would fuck him for free when he was turned away from the brothel with pockets full of coin.

“Jaskier's cursed,” he said bluntly, “we need you to break it.”
She looked the bard up and down. He looked fine outwardly. There were no obvious signs. Whoever had cursed him must have been fond of his pretty face to not marr it.
“What kind of curse?”
This time Geralt didn't save him. He twisted his head towards him and nodded towards her. If it were possible, Jaskier turned even more red. He chewed his lip nervously before answering.
“It doesn't work,” he mumbled.
“Sorry, what?”
“It. Doesn't. Work.”

"Sometimes a flower is just a flower, and the best thing it can do for us is to die."
Jaskier had imagined a thousand times how he would die in Geralt's arms, tragically yet beautifully, and he would finally tell Geralt that he loved him. And Geralt would have cried for him. The old broody, stone-cold, obstinate white wolf would finally show him the fragile side, imploring him not to go. It was supposed to be perfect.
But when death came, he had none of that, for Geralt was not even there.
In the last moment of his life, Jaskier regretted never telling the witcher that he had always loved him, more than anyone or anything in this world.
He didn't expect to wake up a wraith, haunting the very man he loved.
