After almost six months of dating, Rafael has agreed to spend Memorial Day weekend with Sonny at his parents' house in Staten Island.
Three full days with a family that never spoke in anything less than an outside voice. Three days sharing space with a group of physically demonstrative people who didn’t seem to understand the concept of personal boundaries. Three days of sharing a bed in Sonny’s teenage time capsule of a bedroom.
Three days in heaven, basically. He just didn’t know it yet.

Rafael wanted to ask if Sonny considered himself off the market. Was that what he wanted? A relationship with Rafael? Being physically attracted to someone was one thing. Whatever else this might be, after everything that had transpired last night, there was no question of an intense carnal attraction. But was this “I’m not single and neither are you” territory? Was spending one night together the stuff of “call your family and alert your friends”? It was too big a question for Rafael to contemplate before he’d even finished his first cup of coffee, but somehow he found himself doing exactly that.

Zheng Yunlong is being a grump on the couch, still contemplating celibacy after his last failed date, when Lidong sidles up to him.
“I’ve been thinking," she says. "Maybe your problem is that you’re not putting yourself out there enough.”
“I'm not sure that’s the problem,” Yunlong says drily, thinking of all the people he’d been "putting himself out" with.
“I just mean that the only people you’ve been going on dates with are also people in our circle. Who might have developed certain… expectations about you.” Yunlong is aware of the irony that, in his quest to find true love, he’s developed somewhat of a reputation for being, well, easy. The musical theater community is small—and while Yunlong tries his best not to date other actors, people inevitably run into each other when they’re rounding the same circles. And theater kids, unfortunately, love to talk.
“So,” Lidong continues. “It might be a good idea to branch out. I heard about this dating app that’s gotten pretty popular recently, maybe you want to give it a try?”
He doesn't want to, but later Yunlong downloads the app anyway. What could go wrong? It's all in the name of finding the right 1--er, one. Finding the right one.

Summary
His relationship with Dalong never felt like something he had to manage. It just felt natural. Whatever that was meant to happen happened; fate had just decided that there was no point in breaking them up. It would be too much work anyways: they shared too many things, and it was impossible to remember what belonged to who in the first place. Like, was the sweater he was wearing supposed to be his or Dalong's? Ayanga genuinely could not remember.
