Summary
The apartment next door had been empty for months.
Luca knew this because the hallway had been quiet—too quiet. No footsteps at odd hours, no laughter bleeding through thin walls, no sounds of life beyond his own. He’d grown used to it, even if he pretended he hadn’t.
So when the sound of fumbling keys and a small, excited voice echoed through the hallway one Saturday afternoon, it caught him off guard.
“Papa! Papa! Big door!”
Luca paused mid-step, grocery bag digging into his wrist. He turned just in time to see a man struggling with a box almost as big as himself, dark hair falling into tired violet eyes. A small boy stood beside him, clutching a stuffed animal and staring at the apartment door like it was a grand adventure.
The man laughed softly. “Yes, Kou, it’s a big door. This our home now.”
Something warm settled in Luca’s chest before he could stop it.

Summary
Before they met, Shu was set to marry another man, only for him to die in a traffic accident. Luca had never dated someone with that kind of loss before, but he learnt as he went, accepting that Shu's first fiancé would always be a part of his life. However, when Shu asks if he can dance with his late fiancé's brother to a love song at their wedding, Luca starts to wonder whether his love with Shu is really meant to be.
