Toff can’t ignore the way Macklin’s chest is rising and falling like he can’t get enough air, like everything's too fast and too hard to handle.
“I know, but you have to relax, Mack. He’s with medical,” Toff says steadily. “No stretcher. That’s good.”
Macklin nods shortly, but his eyes don’t show that he feels better. “It doesn’t matter, he’s hurt! You saw him fall out there, I have to know he’s okay, Toff–”

Oscar’s world tilted as Lando’s words hung in the air, sweet and devastating all at once. But before he could say anything—before he could even process what had just happened—Lando’s slumped against him, passed out cold.
