Thomas hadn’t meant for it to get this wild. His birthday party was supposed to be a simple get-together among friends. James, John, Abigail, Angelica, Gilbert, and that was that.
Stupidly, he did not object to Angelica’s request to invite her two sisters, Elizabeth and Margarita.
And even more stupidly, he did not object to John inviting the literal president of the United States.
Pushing the limits of stupidity, he did not object to Gilbert inviting his situationship, John Laurens.And perhaps the epitome of his stupidity was not stopping Laurens from inviting his best friend, Alexander Hamilton— which was not to say he had no objections.

“Are you sure you can handle this, mon amour?” Lafayette asked, visible fear in his eyes. John gulped, squeezing his lover’s hand tight. “I don’t know. We’ve fought many battles, but never one this dangerous.” he whispered.
Lafayette pulled him close, engulfing him in a tight hug, maybe for his own comfort more than anything. Regardless, it had the desired effect. When the two pulled away, John was staring at him with brave determination. “We can do this.” He was still afraid, but they would face it together.

Summary
Donnie approached Donatello’s lab. He’d always wondered why it was so… quiet. Their entire lair was silent compared to his own. Donatello’s lab was so peaceful, the only nuisance was any experiment gone wrong. It was plain, basic, a little empty, strangely filthy for a Donatello… but it was peaceful.
This peace remained, despite the metal bullet piercing through his left shoulder.
He was quiet, as quiet as he could be, entering the multiverse perma-portal with a bleeding gunshot wound in his flesh. The last thing he wanted was for his own Leo to worry, more than he already had. Or to get caught in his little secret war.

Summary
Leo didn’t like being the rational one. He was the face-man, the jokester, the instigator. Donnie was supposed to be the genius. The cold, aloof scientist who hated touch and emotion. It was obvious who’d be the logical one on paper.
But Leo had always been smarter than he let on. Observant. Strategic. He noticed things before anyone else did. Including when his twin was coming unglued.
Donnie liked experimenting, being theatrical and dramatic, and he was a middle child. Leo was too, but Donnie was, like, a different font of it.
So between the observer Leonardo and the mad scientist Donatello, it wasn’t even a question of who.
And Leo didn’t necessarily mind, or even truly fear anything, because he knew where Donnie’s morals stood. Donnie was mostly just a dramatic theater kid, he’d never kill anyone. Leo just couldn’t be too careful.
So, when Leo saw it, that true, unbridled rage, seething in Donnie’s blood red and frost blue sharp eyes. The eyes that mirrored his own so clearly…
He felt it.
