Summary
Rin watches with mild horror as Shidou quirks an eyebrow at the heart-shaped candle placed haphazardly on the bookshelf, and he thinks to himself that this is the stupidest fucking thing he’s ever done.
“Never fucking mind,” he snaps, whirling around to blow out the rest of the candles, but Shidou crosses the room in a few strides with his absurdly long legs, pulling Rin around to face him.
“You did all this for me, Rin-Rin?” he asks with a smug grin, and Rin wants to strangle him.

Summary
He knew Shidou didn’t belong to him, not in any meaning of the phrase. He and Shidou were simply rivals who ate off of each other's egos to get to the top— a push and pull relationship full of both arrogance and violence.
Rin's always struggled with admitting things; from admitting he wanted to beat Sae out of longing and not anger, to admitting his raging crush on Shidou for over a decade. Rin's never been keen on being weak and vulnerable— fuck that to the very core.
Yet he can't deny the churning pits of jealousy that stir in his gut whenever he sees Shidou with anyone but him, but that's an admittance he'll keep to himself.
