Caitlyn's not her girlfriend. Nor anyone’s girlfriend, as far as Vi knows. Not that it’s Vi’s business, anyway.
She’s only sitting there at every match because of her stupid essay about the social aspects of football and how being part of a team in a sport helps to develop better communication skills and grows the ability to interact with people.
Or whatever. Vi wasn’t really paying that much attention when Caitlyn explained it to her. She has better things to focus on, rather than some pretty girl and her stupidly interesting essay.
Vi only agrees to play football in the schoolyard because Mylo wants to impress the girls. The blue-haired girl that sits down at the stands during practice to take notes for her literature essay is definitely not the reason she keeps going along with it.

Summary
Vi ran away from her hometown six years ago and hasn’t looked back. But when a letter from her estranged sister finds her, asking her to visit for the holiday, Vi reluctantly packs her bags and returns to the place that completely ruined her life.
Caitlyn has been living in Piltover all her life. As the daughter of the mayor, she’s desperately trying to prove herself as an individual and not just her mother’s name. When the girl who nearly burned down her home years ago suddenly reappears Caitlyn wants nothing to do with her. And the feeling is very mutual.
Life, though, has other plans.

"I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.
A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

During the summer of 1943, Caitlyn rescues US Air Force pilot Violet McAdams from a plane wreck in the French country side, and decides to hide her on her farm to allow her wounds to heal properly.
Neither of them in prepared for the romance that follows this foolish, yet courageous decision.

Summary
It was quiet as Caitlyn and Vi both processed the information, and then very slowly Vi pointed her finger to Caitlyn, and then to herself, one eyebrow raised up to the buzzed half of her hairline. “Us. Get married.”
A new law in Piltover prevents Zaun convicts from working topside without citizenship. Luckily for Vi, all she and Caitlyn have to do is take the next step of their relationship and get married, securing Vi a place in Piltover.
Only problem is, they aren’t in a relationship.
