“Okay. What’s your name?”
Lena’s response is knee-jerk. “None of your damn business.”
Supergirl runs her fingers through her hair. It sticks up wildly near her temple, and Lena can see a slight cowlick. It’s strangely humanizing. “Look, my boss isn’t going to like that I’m working with an unknown as it is. If we’re going to work together, I at least need something to call you.”
When Lena shakes Supergirl’s hand, she feels the warmth of victory when the hero seems shocked at the firmness of her grip. But alarmingly an even stronger warmth radiates from their joined palms, spreading up her arm; Lena pulls her hand back faster than what’s generally considered polite, curling it into a fist.
“You can call me Kieran.”

Regina's eyes flash as she adds, with bite this time, “I don’t do well with orders.”
With that, she pushes past Emma completely and makes for the exit. She’s leaving without even telling Emma what she’d come for, and Emma’s so wrapped up in that fact that she almost misses the best part of it all.
Something sharp and urgent blips in her chest, just below her ribs, and it’s not until the door is thudding shut behind Regina that Emma realizes what it is.
Her superpower.
Her lie detector, flashing red, clear as day.

“I’m sure there’s people in Storybrooke who would jump at the chance of fucking you, Regina.” Regina makes a face, as if Emma’s words are distasteful, and sure they are but Emma’s out of herself, and if her vocabulary is vulgar while sober, then she doesn’t know what the hell Regina expects when she’s not. “Try Tinder.”
“Emma… Storybrooke is the size of a shoebox. I know every person in this town and believe me, none of them are viable options.”
“Why?”
“Because… We have history.”
Emma scoffs.
“So what? We have history and I would fuck you.”
Or, Emma would swear Regina is trying to kill her with just how much she's teasing her. (The thing is, Emma will most definitely let her).
