Summary
Phainon is not happy with the latest game he's played. What's the point of a romance game if there's no actual romance in it? Fortunately, he gets the chance to fix that problem himself!
Phainon knew from the start he shouldn't have listened to Cyrene when she recommended this game.
A romantic story, she'd said. The love between the two main characters was supposedly life-changing. So why, oh why, was Phainon still crying his eyes out an hour after finishing it?!
His eyes drifted back to the console, still on and lying on top of his comforter. The title screen greeted him as it had for a few days now, and Phainon couldn't prevent the pang of betrayal he felt in his chest. A pink, flowery background with a beautiful princess standing on the left side of the screen was first shown next to the title, 'Antilas don't bloom in spring'.

Still, there’s a strange shine in his eyes, one that Phainon has never seen before, so as soon as he’s done collecting his school materials, he approaches Mydei and carefully places a hand on his forehead. “You’re a bit warm to the touch. Are you sure you’re feeling okay?”
“I wouldn’t be here if I weren’t,” he says with a shiver, though he doesn’t push Phainon’s hand away. Phainon’s hand moves to his neck instead. He’s definitely running a fever.
Phainon is excited for his usual movie night with his best friend, Mydei. Mydei has a completely different plan in mind, though, and he makes sure Phainon understands when he turns up to his place in the middle of his heat.

“Seeing your body like that, covered in the blood of your enemies, is proof of your strength and might, your skills as a warrior… And extremely attractive.” There is a strange glow in his eyes now. Mydei has half a mind to reply, to bark at him to stop spouting nonsense. He doesn’t know why he doesn’t.
Phainon’s face gets closer to his until their noses almost touch. His next words are only a whisper. “But it’s different if it’s yours.”
“Different how?”
Mydei gets injured during a fight, and Phainon's first instinct is to worry about him. Once he knows he's safe, though, his mind goes to a different place. He needs to taste his blood.
