“N-No, Dad, I didn’t—I swear.” Hawks curled deeper in on himself, arms coming up to shield his face.
The mention of Endeavor was so jarring Dabi almost missed Hawks’ words. When they finally sank in, his breath hitched in his throat. He felt like he was burning up all over again, fire eating away at the oxygen in his lungs.
Dad?
Dabi needs something stolen, and the Takami Thief is willing to take the job. All he asks for in return is a private meeting with the Number Two Hero. Dabi agrees, and ends up learning more about Hawks than he ever expected.

Summary
Spying on the League of Villains was a dangerous mission, but not a complicated one. Hawks was prepared to go through with it, to risk his life if it meant that other people might be saved in the process. Was not prepared to find out that Dabi and Tomura Shigaraki are dating. Was absolutely not prepared for the HPSC to reclassify his assignment as a honeytrap in the hopes that getting between the two would break up the League. Doesn't think anyone was prepared for what happens instead.

Summary
Now that he's away from the HPSC, Hawks is having to make a life for himself. It's strange that life consists of flock, and friends, and mates, but he's certainly not complaining. Even if things are a lot more complicated given that two of those three categories are filled by the most wanted group of terrorists in Japan. But that's fine. He's going to make this work-- no matter how many times the HPSC tries to stop him.
