A few weeks have passed and the Akademiya have yet to find a proper candidate to become the Sages, let alone to fill the Great Sage’s seat.
But still.
It's a crime to ignore him like this.
Especially when there are omegas who are clearly trying to win his alpha’s other… favor. He has to amp up his effort to seduce Alhaitham so he will properly pay attention to him again.

For example: the loopy scrawl of Kaveh’s handwriting; how the messy quality of it stands in sharp contrast to the precision of his lines. For another: the long curve of Kaveh’s back, the span between the prominent jut of his shoulder blades, where Alhaitham presses a hand—
“Alhaitham—”
And pushes him down to the table, onto his stomach.
Kaveh is less contentious than usual the morning after Alhaitham locks him out of the house, and significantly less tight-laced. Alhaitham's... curiosity... is piqued.

Alhaitham looks as serious as he always is. "Aren't you the one who suggested?"
"Yes, but—I just—I wanted to see your reaction!" He thought Alhaitham would just brush him off as being drunk and ridiculous like he normally does. He didn't expect him to actually do it.
"And you have my reaction," Alhaitham says. "You've dug your grave, now lay in it." And then he pushes a hand up Kaveh's shirt without warning.
Kaveh gets a bit drunk. Alhaitham makes it both their problems.

Summary
