“Killed my best chance of finding those missing kids?” he replied with a touch of sarcasm.
“Yeah, but do you know how he did it?” the warden pressed as they walked. “Or do they not bother letting someone like you know the finer details of these things?”
He was the lead on the case, actually, but he didn’t need to prove anything to this asshole.
“How did he do it then?” he reluctantly asked when they came to a stop outside a metal door.
“The sick fuck ate him,” the warden chuckled darkly.

He woke up a 6-year-old in a world 112 years older than him, where the Calamity had already hit and then recently been defeated... by himself? He didn't know what happened, or how, or why. Luckily, he had eight heroes with weird nicknames on his side, there to help him figure out and fix whatever was going on, one age at a time—and gradually heal his childhood wounds in the process.
Or: my take on the kid!Wild and Wild-meets-the-Chain tropes, with a bit of a twist in that he is mentally a child as well—memories included.
