A blink, a slow turning of the head. Midas-spun sun, sinking its long gold teeth into Yuuji’s frame. Against the light, he’s darkening in ink blue. “Yeah? What’s up?
“Let’s go home.” Megumi murmurs.
Yuuji's eyes soften. “Okay.” He says, and pulls Megumi close. A sweet kiss presses itself into the seam of his mouth, thick with summer.
Or: Over the course of a single summer, slipping through their fingers like water, Yuuji and Megumi learn the intricacies of each other.
