Summary
Ada doesn’t expect to find him like this.
She knew she was running out of time to get to this place, loose end after loose end tying her up in knots and inevitably throwing her into a dead one. But as far as she had been concerned, everything seemed to be under control for the most part. Leon was doing his job, just as well as he always had, sending the undead back to their graves for good this time and putting all of his energy into tracking down Victor. Grace, despite being full of fear, was doing her best to help in whatever way she could.
But something must have happened in between her last encounter with Leon and this one, because he did not look like this an hour ago.

Grace knows she shouldn't be staring, and especially not at an intimidating, seasoned DSO agent like Leon Kennedy, but there's something about his face that's been bothering her. Not the gnarly, dark infection crawling up his neck and inching towards his jaw. He had that when she first met him. No, he had gotten a red smear on his cheek and another one on his lips since the last time they saw each other. It doesn't really look like blood, so Grace only has one guess on what it could be.

Leon accompanies Ada with his eyes as she walks by him, near enough he can touch her arm. She looks back at him for an instant in reassurance. Leon's dying to know what's going on in her head, mingling with relatives and friends wasn't on their undrafted contract. Is she fine with playing his girlfriend? Did she consider him as her boyfriend?
The no strings attached relationship was becoming way too tied.
