Claude drops his hand from his earring and folds his arms across his chest, leaning back in consideration. Then he steps forward and holds out a hand. “Well, shall we?”
Edelgard’s gaze flickers between Claude’s extended hand and his face, lit in a smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes. There’s something more calculating there. Her mouth opens and closes, and when she’s able to speak again, Edelgard is embarrassed to find her voice growing slightly shriller the more she talks. “Shall we what? Dance? The two of us?”
“Well, sure.” Claude shrugs evenly, hand still outstretched. “You don’t mind it, I don’t mind it, and it’s not like we have anything better to do.”
