“I don’t need to,” Luke insists with a shrug. “You’re prettier than all of them, I just know it. And even when you’re sad, you’re still the prettiest to me.”

Summary
ashton irwin hasn't spoken in a large number of years. he works in the coffee shop his foster parents own, and is constantly dealing with the idea that no one will ever truly understand and accept him.
luke goes to university, studying art. he loves going to the local coffee shop to find a caffeine boost and to meet his friends, michael and calum, the two he is rather jealous of. he says it's a good boost for his muse, but never says why.

Ashton knew he wasn't normal okay, he fucking knew it, he didn't need his father reminding him of that every goddamn day. He knew it wasn't normal to like wearing girl's clothes and makeup and just feeling pretty, but it was like an itch under his skin - he needed it, just like he needed the sharp blade in his drawer.
Maybe that was why he was close to just ending it all.

Summary
Ashton still has not met his soul mate. It wasn't that big of a deal, though. He told himself that he was still fairly young and that he had plenty of time to meet his soul mate. Ashton thoroughly believed that the universe had a master plan and he decided that he would meet his soul mate when the universe decided the time was right. So he wasn't too worried, not yet anyway. He knew that his soul mate was out there in the world and Ashton being so free-spirited and loving, knew that whoever he was destined to spend eternity with was most likely an amazing, beautiful, and caring soul. So Ashton wasn't too worried about not meeting his soul mate. He knew that it was all in due time that he would meet the one person who would cause his heart to swell and feel as if it was about to burst. So he waited patiently and hopefully, more ready with each passing day to find a love that would last a lifetime.

Ashton and Luke are soul mates but Luke doesn't believe it because he's an emotionally constipated bad boy and Ashton is literal walking sunshine.
