The moment the system finally activates without errors, the entire team gathers around.
Everyone stares as even the ones who don’t fully understand the science behind it can recognize the scale of what they’re looking at.
But Senku doesn’t look at their reactions, instead, his eyes scan the crowd.
And then he notices it.
Gen looks bored. Actually bored.
That never happens, not even once.
Usually, the mentalist is right there, eyes wide with disbelief, throwing out some dramatic comment about how impossible something looks. Gen’s reactions never get old. There’s something oddly satisfying about watching someone who makes a living reading people struggle to process Senku’s inventions.
Or: Gen doesn't react to his invention anymore. Senku's goal? He wants to see the amazement and disbelief on the mentalist's face again.

Summary
Most would’ve assumed Gen’s annoyance with seeing Luna fawn over Senku stemmed from the secondhand embarrassment of just how oblivious she seemed to Senku’s complete disinterest - and yes, it was a bit cringey but that could be managed.
But what he truly couldn’t stand about it was that he was supposed to be the one fawning over Senku.

The illusion lasted less than a month. No one believed the paperwork at first. One classmate laughed outright. Another looked Ivan up and down and said his body must have made a mistake.
Till simply stared. “Really?”
Ivan nodded.
Till’s gaze moved from his face to his shoulders and hands. “You don’t look like one.”
He was not trying to be cruel. Still, something small and hopeful inside Ivan folded quietly into itself.
