Cruel to thrill at the possibility that Sunghoon's first impulse in the face of a perceived threat was not to withdraw, but to stake a claim, to defend.

    Because what did that reveal? That beneath it all, Sunghoon was afraid. That he feared losing what he had not yet learned how to hold. And in that case, Sunoo was that thing.
