“What is your name?” Jun asked softly.
The Omega hesitated. His fingers curled in the blanket like he was holding onto something invisible. “I don’t know,” he whispered.
Jun should have sent him to the elders. A rogue Omega with no scent he recognized, no pack marks, and no history is just a problem waiting to happen. That’s what the rules said.
Instead, Jun said, “Then stay. Until you do.”
The Omega looked at him like he’d been handed a second life and didn’t know how to carry it.
This is Jun’s first winter without his parents. His house is too quiet and his nights are too long. Letting a stranger sleep under his roof should feel wrong.
It doesn’t.
It feels like warmth returning to a place that forgot how to have it.
