Summary
Severus Snape agrees, reluctantly, to care for Harry Potter for just two weeks while Lily Evans recovers. It was supposed to be temporary, an inconvenient favor, a fleeting arrangement. But not everything goes to plan, and Severus realizes two weeks may never be enough.

Snape arrives at Number 4, Privet Drive a day before the Weasleys make their way out there. He offers Harry residence at his home for the rest of his summer holidays. Severitus (eventually). No corporal punishment of ANY kind. Canon divergence as of the end of the first book, but characters will evolve when placed in new situations! (Prequel to “The Detention” because plot bunnies arrive at random points in my head!)

Harry took a shuddering breath and pushed himself up on an elbow to wipe his face. “Sev,” he whispered, unsure of what he was looking for from his guardian.
Severus conjured a box of tissues and handed one to Harry, still frowning. “When did you start feeling ill?”
