    Summary

Jonathan Sims enjoys his work as an editor for Leitner Press, even if it does put him in touch with a rotating cast of bizarre occult and esoteric authors (bug-enthusiast Jane Prentiss and flagship author and recluse Jonah Magnus to name a couple).

Then one day, his publisher and mentor Gertrude Robinson disappears without a trace and is replaced by her boneheaded son, Michael. To make matters worse, Jon has been assigned a new assistant (who he absolutely does NOT need, thank you very much), Martin Blackwood.

Martin has a couple secrets up his sleeve:
    1) His very undistinguished secret career
    2) His all-consuming crush on his new boss
