The man’s gaze turns to him and sticks. Eddie bristles beneath the attention but tries not to show it. His eyes remind Eddie of the perfect crema atop an espresso and damn if he’s not a sucker for brown-eyed boys. It’s a curse.
The man offers a smirk. “You must be the enigmatic barista I hear so much about. I’m Steve. Good to meet you, man. Robin and Henderson yammer on about your lattes all the time.”
“Tis I, Eddie, a humble barkeep, at your service,” Eddie says with a flourish of his free hand and a slight bow. “Pleasure's all mine. What can I get you?”
Or, Eddie owns a coffee shop and some of his regulars turn into friends along the way.

Summary
It was only a few months after Eddie Munson almost died, and the world almost ended right on top of his head, and now, all of a sudden he managed to find himself in an entirely new world ending crisis. He is being (semi-willingly) Parent Trapped by seven half feral teens, and with Steve ‘the Hair’ Harrington, nonetheless.
Okay, maybe the whole world isn't ending this time, but for Eddie and Steve it certainly feels like it is.

“Damn you, Harrington.” Eddie shakes his head, looking back at the box again.
He can see Robin giving him a curios look, but Eddie avoids looking at her. He didn’t want to answer questions about his damn crush on Steve freaking Harrington and how he keeps getting more perfect by the minute. Eddie needs him to stop, like literally right now.
“Oh my god,” Dustin screams, making Eddie look at him from across the room. Eddie finds him staring at someone, so he follows his line of sight and finds one Steve Harrington, yeah, that one, the one he just asked a second ago to stop being perfect? Yeah, that guy is standing at the bottom of the stairs with a crumpled box in his hands and is wearing glasses.
Steve Harrington just exceeded perfect.

Summary

Tommy bets Steve to befriend the new kid, and Steve finds himself agreeing to operation Ruin the Life of Eddie Munson. Eddie is oblivious to the arrangement, and finds his first ever genuine friend, but who's to say that it'll stay that way? And what happens, when Steve realizes that he's met his first genuine friend, too?

No Upside Down shenanigans until Chapter Eleven for this fic, and since Vol. 2 seemed to never drop and somehow mysteriously, Vecna was defeated and everyone lived happily ever after, we can make up our own stories! Nah, but this is canon divergent. Really just snatched up the Duffer's characters and said "Make them kiss.”
