Caitlyn looked at her boarding pass for her connecting flight and sighed, sounding tired. “The flight home is always my least favorite part of any trip.”
Vi couldn’t relate - she got homesick real bad, and while she’d loved being at the Games, even the air felt better now that she was back in Zaun.
“Do you…do you maybe…” Vi shook her head. “Nah, it’s stupid.”
Because it was. It was so stupid.
Caitlyn’s face shifted from unreadable to curious. “What is it?”
Nerves fizzing around in her chest, Vi took a deep breath.
Fuck it.
“If you don’t have anything important waiting…do you maybe wanna stay?”

“Hello there” Vi chimed cheerfully. “I'm Vi Anderson, and I’m here today with my best friend and co-star-” she gestured at Caitlyn to finish introductions.
“Caitlyn Kiramman” Caitlyn said with a soft chuckle, while turning towards the camera. “You may recognize us from the tv series ‘Piltover ER’.”
Vi gave a confident nod. “But today, we're not here to solve the next medical mystery. Instead, we’re here to take part in the Wired Autocomplete Interview!”
“I’m actually nervous” Caitlyn admitted while Vi received her cardboard list.
“Wait, are you really?” Vi asked curiously, while reaching out to place a thumb on Caitlyn’s wrist – measuring her pulse.
Several seconds later, she turned to the camera with a shocked expression. “Her heart is beating so fast, you guys”Caitlyn chuckled softly. “That’s because you’re touching me, darling” she teased playfully.

“Alright. Let’s introduce ourselves then” Vi's sarcastically remarked. “I’ll start. The name’s Vi, owner of the tattoo parlour across the street and caretaker of the elderly woman who was kicked out of her home - to make room for your little flower shop. She’s currently sleeping in my bed”
The taller woman’s uncovered eye widened for a moment, as Vi’s words dawned on her. Then, her gaze gradually narrowed.
“Look, Vi, I now understand your anger and frustration” she began in a very patient tone. “But that does not give you the right to barge into my shop and accuse me of carelessly tossing an elderly woman out onto the streets. As I’ve stated before, I was offered a reasonable contract after the last resident had moved out. So whatever quarrel you have - it isn’t with me.”
Vi’s fists tightened. “And just what-”
“You don’t even know my name” the tall goddess interrupted her firmly. “And quite frankly, you’re making a fool of yourself - accusing me of crimes I had nothing to do with while you don’t even know how to address me.”
Vi was left fucking speechless.

Summary
As per usual, Vi is quite stressed. Vander's been starting to pile on the pressure of leading her family, Powder seems to be getting even more insecure about her own abilities, Mylo is being Mylo, and Vi has zero clue how they're supposed to get enough food for the whole family this week. To top everything off, Little Man had a tip worth a small fortune that was going to be given to Vi. Unfortunately for her, Ekko was cornered by some thugs that wouldn't leave him alone until he gave them something valuable. Giving up the tip was the only way Ekko could shake them off.
Then Vi saw the slimy bastards get blown up before her very eyes. Suddenly, her problems aren't actually that big of a deal after all.
OR
Despite warning the Academy and taking all necessary precautions, Jayce Talis's gems ended up killing four kids from the Undercity. This tragedy led Piltover to finally start taking care of those they once left behind in trenches. By the grace of the goddess herself, Vi and her entire family got to see the start of a better world together.

“I always only see one side of your face,” Caitlyn caresses the tattoo on Vi’s face, her eyebrow raised but Caitlyn continued before she could speak. “It’s the side that stands by my side, the side I see when we have our weakest moments, when we make love at night.”
Caitlyn shuffled onto her lap then, Vi chuckled but brought her hands to Caitlyn’s waist, turning to follow her face, they shared air for a moment before Caitlyn’s hand felt its way over her shoulder and up her neck. “What are you doing?” Vi laughed a little, the angle felt odd but she didn’t protest, staying still as Caitlyn carefully brushed her hair out of her face and held it back.
“This is the side that protects me. I don’t get to see it much, but it’s always there,” Caitlyn placed at first careful then gentle kisses along her cheekbone to her brow. “The only place I see your whole face is where I can’t gauge your distance,” Caitlyn’s voice cracked a little as she pulled back again and looked at the side of Vi she’d deemed protector.
“You can talk to me, Violet,” Caitlyn said quietly.
