Summary
"I have a question."
The serenity of Kai's voice, just a hair above a whisper, was cut through by obvious nerves, a tremble that he couldn't disguise even if he tried. Taehyun hummed in response, a little distracted by how uncomfortable and wet the inside of his sweatpants were feeling now that the moment had died, his skin itching.
"When we wake up tomorrow, will this have still happened? Or is this something you just want me to forget about?"
Kai looks at Taehyun like he’s in love with him, and Taehyun can’t tell where the script ends and his heart begins.

Summary
Beomgyu swore that he would do anything if it meant breaking his sister's curse. He’d go anywhere, he’d give up everything. His crown, his reputation, his material posessions— he’d give them all.
He just wished that everything didn’t have to mean Yeonjun, too.

"What was that, Seungie?"
Beomgyu wiped a lone, stubborn tear that had clung to Seunghyun's cheek away with his thumb, and then let his hand rest atop his shoulder. He wasn't even sure if the words were meant for him at first, spoken so quietly, so softly that they could have been the wind, but he waited for him to repeat them regardless.
"Teacher, you smell just like my mommy."
Beomgyu didn't know how badly he needed the test to be positive until it was already in his hands.

Summary
Silence settled between them, the kind that was only allowed to simmer because Beomgyu was gearing up for another question, one that he was hesitating on asking. He had a lot of those questions tonight, ones that he felt he shouldn’t ask.
"Then, do you think you'd keep it if it weren't for the group?"
Beomgyu asked it anyway.
For the longest time, Yeonjun had been harbouring two dreams: to become an idol, and to find his soulmate, to finally be able to see his red string, and fall in love. Against all odds, in a hotel room in New York, both of his dreams come true at once.
Beomgyu being on the other end of his string had never been part of his plan.

Summary
"If it makes you feel any better, if I wasn't so concerned about you being safe, I'd think it was pretty hot that you're so obsessed with me that it triggered your rut."
"So you don't think it's hot?" Yeonjun bemoaned, letting out a pained little noise as he buried himself deeper into Beomgyu's neck, his lips wet against glistening skin.
"You and your selective hearing," Beomgyu grumbled. "Of course I think it's hot. Stupid alpha.”
Beomgyu’s cover of The Killa in Fukuoka proves to be a little too much for Yeonjun to handle.

Summary
The question is so sincere, as if that was an option they had, as if Beomgyu could say yes and Yeonjun could fix the way the world works just for him. Yeonjun's used that voice before, while assuring him he's talented, while assuring him he's deserving of what he has, while assuring him he's loved. It's the voice he uses on all of them, the solid, comforting reminder that even if their management didn't, Yeonjun would always put the members before anything else. Not as a team, but as family. He would tilt the Earth's axis if they asked him to.
But he couldn't. Yeonjun couldn't change the way the world worked, no matter how much he'd try. So why would he ask Beomgyu a question like that sincerely? Beomgyu's wanting would never change the roles they had to play.
