"To the lich? I thought....." Erin trails off. "Yes mother, as you require. I will be at your side as soon as I can."
"You thought...? I have more important things to attend to than your thoughts or feelings. The sooner you return the better."
"But..." Erin takes a breath, "I apologise mother. I will do better"
"Don't do better, Erin. Be better."
Erin's voice is barely a whisper "Yes mother."
There's no response. Just a distinct feeling of being alone and unloved.
