Only after the door had closed behind them did Sakuya let go of Banri’s wrist and glance back with a shy smile.
“Wanted to be able to talk without waking them.”
“R-right, yeah.” Banri stuttered, ducking his head and preparing himself for the onslaught of questions sure to come. His wrist tingled where Sakuya had held it and he brushed his own fingers across the spot absentmindedly.

Kumon watched as Azami slowly faded from view before he knelt down and brought his hands together in a silent prayer. While he definitely hadn’t meant to leave the matches behind, Kumon was almost glad for the moment alone that it afforded; both for Azami to gather his strength and for Kumon to speak to Azami’s mother.
“Hi, Izumida-san. I hope you’re resting well. Azami’s here too, of course, but it’s just me at the moment.”
“It’s been ten years since we met now and I want to spend the rest of my life making him as happy as he makes me. So I came here with him not just to pay my respects to you, but also to ask for your blessing to propose to him.”

Kumon’s face was still slack with sleep, his cheek squished against his arm. He almost looked his own age for once, the frenetic energy that made him appear younger nowhere to be found. Azami felt a small tug that he couldn’t identify somewhere in his chest as he studied the smooth planes of his face.

Sakuma Sakuya is one of those select few where the night brings him demons, armed with personal attacks and horrifying imagery. Demons that not only disrupt his sleep, his time to rest, but destroy the fairy tale moments of night and leave him feeling weary during the day.

“I can already hear you getting tired, man,” Reki replies as something rustles on the other end of the line—a blanket by the sound of it—and Langa imagines Reki crawling into bed, probably propped up against the wall because it’s way too early for him to even consider sleep yet.
Not Langa, though, he can already feel sleep coming for him, just like Reki said. Barreling toward him like a high-speed train, sped up by the warm, cozy blankets wrapped around his body.
Not yet, he thinks, willing his eyes to stay open just a little bit longer. Not yet.
