Summary
Jay has a date tonight.
"Sunghoon," Jay takes a step back, even when Sunghoon stays where she is. She knows how she sounds, how she looks. Pathetic. Like she’s begging. "I really—I really like this girl, Sunghoon."
Sunghoon hums, taking one step towards Jay, ignoring the instinctual move back Jay takes away from her. Just watches Jay move with thinly-veiled interest, like she could see through her clothes, her skin, the way her bones creak against each other in her haste to run away. "Is she important?"
"I like her." Jay's sneakers squeak against the vinyl flooring, almost like a cry for help with each step Jay takes backwards. Her tongue grows heavy, too big for her mouth and drowning in too much spit. She looks for the words to convince Sunghoon, to convince herself. “I like her."
"But is she important?" Sunghoon hasn't changed her pace, body smooth and fluid as she moves towards Jay. The line of her arms, her back, her legs sure in its trajectory. "Is she more important to you than I am?"

"You truly are a romantic," Her fingers move deftly across her hair, coiling the strands tightly against her nape, fastening it with a speed that said nothing but her willingness to leave. "Perhaps you were a hermit in another life, maybe even a poet."
Sara stares as Sirena smiles her sweetest, offsetting the bitter taste her haste leaves in her mouth. "Maybe," she agrees, absent-mindedly, only focused on how quick she's moving to get away. "Maybe I even died for love in my past life."
