Harry was used to having less than spectacular birthdays by now, having lived all his life with relatives uncaring and sour as the Dursleys. But something about the previous year at Hogwartsーa certain ginger and a curly haired brunette to be preciseーhad him hoping that maybe his twelfth would be a tad different. He tried not to pay too much attention to how his stomach curled sharply in self pity as he sang himself a half-hearted happy birthday under his breath, and by the time he had made his way through the entire song, Harry found himself blinking away a suspicious mistiness in his eyes.
Just then, a voice piped up from above him. “Are you crying?” Harry jolted, whipping his head around to look at the unexpected intruder. A small face was grinning down at him from the low branches of the tree to his left.

It was only by a chance encounter (and by this you mean Tim being driven out of the manor by a particular gremlin child , seeking refuge in your small and blessedly quiet apartment) that you and Tim had established something of a regular routine between the two of you. Nowadays it isn't an unusual occurrence for Tim to show up unannounced, looking for a sip of coffee and a place to work his cases uninterrupted.
Tonight he packs up his stuff a little earlier than he usually does, bidding you a goodnight and ruffling your hair on the way out, and you can’t help but pat yourself on the back for the soft smile that’s still on his face when he hops out your window and into the night.

Summary
“What do you want, Mei Mei?” Satoru asks straight away, because he’s never been one to beat around the bush.
“The university’s charity organization has decided to set up a kissing booth to raise money for this year’s donation goal, and I’ve been tasked with recruiting the lucky volunteers,” Mei Mei says as she places her hand on the back of Suguru’s chair, her gaze as graciously calculating as always. “I thought you might be interested.”
“I am afraid I must refuse,” Suguru replies, maintaining a courteous tone of voice, because there’s no universe in which he’d voluntarily subject himself to such a thing.
“Okay,” Satoru retorts at the exact same moment, and every single thought in Suguru’s head comes to a standstill.
Or: When Satoru agrees to volunteer at their University's kissing booth charity event Suguru is forced to come to terms with how he actually feels about his best friend.

Jiang Cheng had stripped to the waist in order to attempt to preserve his robes—he wasn’t a Jin, wasn’t sitting on top of an endless supply of gold like some people—and Jin Guangyao had a very odd look on his face when Jiang Cheng looked up to see if he was still there.
Maybe it was just the heat making Jin Guangyao look so uncomfortable, and the sun beating down on them through the haze that had reddened his cheeks.
