“I would never let you be alone,” Juri vows, and something kindles in Shiori’s eyes. She crowds Juri back against the wall, all elbows and shoulders and sharp edges. Juri bangs her head on the stone, hard enough to see roses, but the pain barely registers, because Shiori is kissing her, with one hand tangled in the hair at the base of her neck and the other splayed out in the center of her chest.
