    Summary

His feathers fluffed slightly in irritation. “This feels… excessive.”

“Exactly,” Jirou cut in before he could overthink it. “Tokoyami, Bakugou is my friend. I know him. You could write ‘I am courting you’ across his forehead in permanent marker, and I still don’t think he’d get it. This is the only way.”

Shinsou nodded, smirking. “He’s dense as a rock. Hell, I bet if you straight-up kissed him, he’d just go, ‘Huh. Weird bro behavior.’” It was a joke—they both knew it. But Fumikage still couldn’t help the slight bristle of protectiveness that crept in.

    “He’s not stupid,” Fumikage glared.

He snorted, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Sorry, sorry. But hey, you didn’t say anything about him being dense.”

Fumikage opened his mouth to argue—then sighed, shoulders slumping.

    “Because he is.”

    Or

Fumikage was willing to try anything at this point.

    Summary

“Hey, uh, so… funny story,” Shinsou began sheepishly.

Funny? You think destroying my fuckin’ kitchen is funny?!” Bakugou hissed, stomping across the waterlogged floor, his boots splashing through suds with every step. By the time he reached Shinsou, his pants were soaked up to the knees, and he looked more than ready to wring his neck.

“Terribly tragic story,” Shinsou corrected immediately, his hands lifting higher as he backpedaled a step. “Absolutely heartbreaking. You’re going to cry when you hear it.”

You’re going to cry when I’m through with you,” Bakugou snarled.

    Or

One of these days, Bakugou was going to kill Shinsou with his bare hands.

    Summary

Reading the sheer devastation on his face, Kirishima patted him reassuringly on the back. “Cheer up, bro. Nothing’s gonna happen.”

“To you, maybe!” Kaminari shot back, voice cracking. “Bakugou has a soft spot for you, but me? I’ll be ash in, like, three seconds!”

“Drama queen,” Shinsou called from up front, snickering as he tightened his grip on Kaminari’s arm like he had any chance of escaping.

“I’m not being dramatic! I’m being realistic!” Kaminari squeaked, his shoes skidding helplessly against the floor as he was dragged closer and closer to his doom.

    Or

Kaminari cannot keep a secret. This is a well-known, indisputable fact among his friends and family. And while it stings a little that no one trusts him enough to share anything, he knows it’s well-deserved. They’re right not to tell him—he gets it.

But sometimes, secrets don’t wait to be told. Sometimes they find him, whether he wants them or not.

    Or

Here’s the story of how Kaminari died.

    Summary

“Pop, do something!” Akari urged, turning her full attention to Kirishima. Clearly, she realized she could only get so far with Shinsou. “Dad’s going back on his word!”

“He is, huh?” Kirishima said, his voice warm and teasing as he started to sit up, unraveling himself from Shinsou and taking all his cozy warmth with him.

“Yeah! You gotta make him get up! You’re in charge—you have more power!”

Shinsou groaned, pulling the blankets over his head.

Kirishima snorted softly, his hand brushing back Shinsou’s messy hair. “Not that much power, but hey, how about this? I’ll make the pancakes this time, and then we can wake up Daddy to open presents. Seems fair, right?”

    Or

As an underground hero, there were many things Shinsou would never experience. And that’s okay. For everything he might miss out on, there’s so much more he will experience—moments that are entirely his, untouched by the spotlight, and just as meaningful.

    Or

Is it really so wrong to just want to sleep in?

    Summary

And today—well, today seemed to be one of those days. He’d barely made it a chapter into his book when the peaceful rhythm of his reading was shattered by a loud, almost aggressive knocking on his door. No, scratch that—it wasn’t knocking; it was more like pounding. For a moment, he just sat there, absorbing the sound and contemplating the absolute deranged behavior of whoever was on the other side of the door.

He thought, briefly, of ignoring it—pretending he wasn’t there. After all, anyone who knocked like that had to be trouble, and trouble was the last thing he wanted. But, as if the brutal assault on his door wasn’t enough, the person outside took it a step further and started yelling.

“Oi! Open the fuck up! I saw you slink in here earlier!”

    Oh. It was Bakugou.

    Or

    Fumikage had an unexpected guest.

    Summary

“Go wash your hands first. I don’t want whatever you’ve been dragging around all day on my food,” Bakugou snapped, smacking Shinsou’s hand away and firmly placing the lid back on the pot.

Shinsou let out a whine, clutching his hand like it had been mortally wounded. “But I’m starving! A little flu never hurt anybody.”

“Historically, it has,” Bakugou deadpanned, rolling his eyes as he shoved Shinsou toward the bathroom. “The food’s not going anywhere, dumbass.”

    Or

Bakugou wasn’t a fan of Christmas—never had been, and he could easily do without all the fuss. But this year was different. This year was special. And while he wasn’t exactly brimming with holiday cheer, he was determined to make it the best Christmas yet, because his boyfriend deserved nothing less.

    Summary

“Are you helping them right now?!”

“No, no, never!” Shinsou cackled, his arms snaking around Bakugou’s waist to keep him firmly in place. “You’re just too funny, babe.”

“Fuck you,” Bakugou growled, squirming in Shinsou’s lap as he made a half-hearted attempt to free himself.

“Aww, don’t be like that, Tsuki,” Shinsou teased, pressing a kiss to Bakugou’s cheek. “Look, I’ll apologize. I’m sorry.”

Bakugou might have accepted it—might have let it go—but the apology was completely undermined by the sound of Shinsou still snickering, his shoulders shaking as he failed to suppress another burst of laughter.

“You’re still fuckin’ laughing!” Bakugou snarled, irritation flaring as he finally put real effort into prying himself free.

“No—wait, I’ll stop!” Shinsou wheezed, but the laughter refused to die.

    Or

Shinsou was a god damn hyena.

    Summary

Shinsou blinked, his brain scrambling to process the question “Me?”

“No, the villain,” he deadpanned, pausing for a moment before continuing. “Obviously, I’m fuckin’ talking to you.”

“Oh—yeah, right. I mean, obviously, I’m the only one here, so of course you’re talking to me—who else could you be talking to?” Shinsou rambled, a dam seemingly breaking inside him as the words simply wouldn’t stop spilling out.

“Did you fuckin’ hit your head or somethin’?”

    Or

Shinsou had never been a hero fanatic. To him, they were just flashy cops with quirks, and given how often he’d had run-ins with the police, he figured it was best to steer clear. Heroes did their thing, he did his, and life went on. Or at least it did—until one fateful encounter made him rethink their appeal. Then again, maybe it was just the appeal of a certain blond-haired, red-eyed hero.

    Or

Shinsou would let Dynamight crush his skull between his thighs.

“Next time, fucking call me,” Bakugou cut him off. “I may be an asshole, but I’m your asshole. If you need me, I’ll be there.”

“Not an asshole,” Shinsou whispered, his voice barely audible.

Bakugou snorted, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Yeah, well, the rest of the damn world would probably disagree.”

Shinsou’s lips curved into a soft smile. “Good. Everyone’s already obsessed with you—imagine what would happen if they found out you’re actually nice. Pure chaos.”

    Or

Bakugou might be an asshole, but assholes can still love and care for their boyfriends—just like any regular, old extra.

“Better?” Shinsou asked, his voice low and comforting.

“No,” Bakugou grumbled, though he leaned into the embrace anyway. Shinsou was usually on the cooler side, but somehow, he always managed to be warm when Bakugou needed it. “Still cold.”

“I know,” Shinsou murmured, resting his chin on Bakugou’s head, fingers tracing gentle patterns along his back.

“Wanna go home,” Bakugou mumbled, definitely not pouting as he glared at their friends still debating over the pumpkins.

“I know,” Shinsou chuckled, pulling him tighter. “We’re almost done.”

    Or

Shinsou was always the perfect remedy for his overstimulated boyfriend.

“Well, well, what do we have here!” Shinsou teased, grinning so wide his cheeks ached. “Could it be? No, surely not—the Great Explosion Murder Dynamight, stranded outside his own apartment?”

Bakugou shot a glare from his spot on the floor, “shut up. Fuck you. Just open the damn door,” he hissed, teeth chattering despite his best effort to hide it.

“Oh, no, none of that,” Shinsou chuckled, crouching down and cupping Bakugou’s face with both hands. “That’s not how you greet your savior, you know.”

“Don’t care,” Bakugou muttered, pulling his hands from his pockets and shoving them into Shinsou’s. “It’s freezing out here. Just open the damn door.”

“Hm, I don’t think I heard a ‘please’ in there,” Shinsou smirked.

    Or

Bakugou’s tired, filthy, and just wants to be in his own damn house.

    Summary

“You’ve got that look on your face,” Shinsou said, his voice casual but clearly teasing. If Bakugou knew Shinsou—and he did—this was all deliberate, likely setting up some joke that Bakugou would normally roll his eyes at, but…

“What look?” Bakugou asked, playing along despite himself.

“You know, your ‘someone’s gonna die today’ look,” Shinsou snickered, attempting to imitate him by scrunching his brows tightly together, and pulling his mouth down in a scowl.

“You look constipated, dumbass,” Bakugou snorted, a flicker of amusement escaping him.

“Your kitchen’s fine,” Bakugou grunted, drying the last dish and yanking off his gloves. “It’s the shitty owner that’s the problem. The idiot keeps this place in an abysmal state.”

“Rude,” Shinsou huffed, crossing his arms and sticking out his tongue whether Bakugou was looking or not. “I’m trying my best here.”

“Really?” Bakugou paused, turning to raise an eyebrow at Shinsou.

“Okay, no—” He began, earning himself a well-deserved scoff. “But not all of us are, like, Gordon Ramsay-level chefs! And I don’t need—” he paused, gestured vaguely toward the counter, “that spinny thingy with the whisks or whatever.”

“It’s called a stand mixer, you absolute gremlin, and you could be a decent cook if you actually applied yourself.”

    Or

Occasionally Bakugou liked doing nice things for his boyfriend, his very dumb, annoying boyfriend.

    Summary

So, it must be said again—"What the fuck?"

Unamused, Shinsou ignored Bakugou’s outburst and instead recited what could only be a scripted response. “Thank you for dining with us. Let me know if you need anything else.”

"I need to know why the fuck you’re here," Bakugou demanded, his eyes narrowing as he searched Shinsou for any clues to explain the situation.

Shinsou let out a tired sigh, as if Bakugou were the unreasonable one here. Like this didn’t warrant an explanation—the audacity of this asshole. "Let me know if I can help you with something pertaining to the menu," he stressed.

“Screw the menu,” he growled, leaning forward.“Why are you here? Since when did you start serving pastries like some washed-up extra?”

“Working,” he said simply, his tone flat. “Now, if you’ll excuse me.”

    Or

Bakugou always strived for the best in life, pushing himself relentlessly toward success. Naturally, he expected others to do the same—why would anyone settle for anything less?

And yet, Shinsou clearly thought otherwise. He had to—how else was Bakugou supposed to interpret it when he saw the freak wasting away as a barista.
