Summary
Three days ago, Jun had mistakenly eaten a bowl of malatang he thought Kwon Soonyoung had ordered on his behalf, as Jun had requested, of course. Only to find out later that it had been mistakenly sent to his department when it was meant for someone in the Mathematics department, which was right next door.
To be exact, it was Jeon Wonwoo’s.
Jeon Wonwoo, whom he hadn’t spoken to ever since he started teaching. Jeon Wonwoo, whom he could only want to describe as that guy who teaches Algebra and Calculus and who, according to Kwon Soonyoung, will get along well with Jun in the gastronomical aspect and beyond.
But Jun already knew that.

“He did!” Jun almost slammed his hands on the table. “Out of nowhere, he just decided he hated me. Avoiding me, acting weird generally—then suddenly he felt the need to say something to counter me.”
“Are you sure it was out of nowhere?”
Jun gave half a sneer. “Please, I was normal. He, on the other hand, felt the need to be annoyingly contrarian. Even on the most innocuous things—if I said it’s cream, he’d insist it’s ecru. If I said it was grave abuse of discretion, he’d say it’s not in excess or lack of jurisdiction. Heck, he even tried to disprove that I don’t use perfume or cologne.”
Jisoo and Myungho exchanged a glance.
Jun took a few more gulps before he continued. “Honestly, he’d probably petition for my downfall.”
Jisoo set his fork down. “Have you talked to Wonwoo about it?”
“What’s there to talk about?” Jun tightened the grip on his fork. “Every single time we’d cross paths, it’s like he doesn’t even want to spare a glance at me. Like my mere presence offends him.”
Jun thinks Wonwoo hates him... well, does he really?

“Thanks,” the customer replied politely. He accepted the bag with a slight bow and made his way toward the door.
Wonwoo stood there as the chimes resonated. It was surreal— Wen Junhui. It was a face that came with a name so well-known in both the West and the East. From Hong Kong as a child actor to Korea eventually then back to his homeland in China before exploding onto the Hollywood scene.
Wen Junhui who had just walked into his unassuming bookstore in Bosu-dong. Wen Junhui who seemed anything but ordinary in his second-hand bookstore. Wen Junhui had browsed his shelves, breathed the same dusty air. He’d taken a book Wonwoo had called shit and handed it to the register himself.

Summary
The car weaved through the grid that is the business district. The streets here were full of deals and number-crunching. The driver slowed to a stop in front of a building where everyone wore pressed shirts and sharp suits, even in the humidity and heat.
The driver turned to him with a polite smile. “We’re picking up one more. They’re going to the same place.”
Shared ride, Jun remembered immediately. Inevitably, he’d have to make room for another passenger riding in the same direction.
Jun gave a nod as he adjusted his bag slightly to make space on the seat beside him. Soon enough his nose found a pleasant mix of vanilla, rum, and somehow tobacco but not smoke filling the rest of the back seat.
“Hello,” the newcomer greeted.

“Thanks for the offer, though,” Joshua added before walking. “I wish you the best in finding someone who can help.”
Most people would take rejection from most people lightly, moving on as quickly as when a barista tells them they’re out of coffee. Yoon Jeonghan would but it seems like Joshua Hong wasn't like most people.
Jeonghan smirked. It didn’t sting. Rather, it amused him. Interesting enough, Joshua had turned him down not with pride but polite disinterest.
Interesting indeed.
