How could Viktor care then about Jayce’s stolen nights with Mel, when he held him so softly in his arms, when he whispered all that could be as a prayer in his ears?

He saw a huge candid pair of wings in front of him, shielding him from the mortal impact, he saw a pair of cold, beautiful teal eyes, golden locks and all around it and a necklace of blood-red stones. He heard a voice, too. A voice like the crack of thunder, the crash of the ocean, the rumble of landmasses during an earthquake – a voice so potent the soldier marveled at how the world around him didn’t stop to listen to it and obey its commands. “Be not afraid” the voice spoke in his mind, overwhelming, all-compassing. It had, the voice, a tint of glee in it, a speck of mirth, as if its owner hoped that the soldier would, in fact, be very afraid, and they would relish that fear.
Or: The angel saved the soldier oh the battlefield. Now he came back to claim what he is owned.

Summary
Fili had one job to do. One. And thanks to a pack of mutts he's now imprisoned - wrongfully, he'd like to point out - and now has to explain himself to the King of Erebor and hope like hell he's not executed as punishment - that would delay his delivery time somewhat.
Oh and he'd also have to face his father and explain to him why he was near a dwarven kingdom in the first place, considering they were all off limits.
On second thought, imprisonment doesn't sound so bad after all.
