Komaeda acts like he hasn't heard him.
Glimpses of the past guide the future- memories reawakened change things irreperably, even if they're lost to time. Hinata Hajime very well may not survive it.

Summary
Hajime didn’t consider himself a fatalist. To believe that fate existed and that everything was already set in stone, that reality unfolded at destiny’s whim, was merely ludicrous. To believe in fate, was to believe life had no meaning whatsoever. Or that’s what Hajime thought.
Though the concept of destiny seemed far too unrealistic to him, the concept of luck was a different matter.
Unlucky. That was the word that could summarize Hajime Hinata.
Even so, it came as a surprise when he received the letter.
Or: Hajime does have a talent, his Ultimate Bad Luck.

Everyone else deserves to live and breathe, they all deserve to make it out of here. Ouma? He’s never deserved a thing in his life.
Which is why Ouma’s stomach drops to find Akamatsu of all people in the library, dead, body hunched over into an otherwise painful position. It makes him sick to his stomach, and Ouma regrets not treating her better. (But he would feel worse if he had, that nasty voice in his head reminds him. He hates how inclined he is to blindly, foolishly, follow it.)

What if Saihara was never the protagonist? After Akamatsu's death, he's too overridden with anger and grief to take over in her place. Can Ouma's skill as the Ultimate Supreme Leader save him and all his classmates? And, as the new antagonist, how will Saihara get in his way?

Summary
Something about it, the way his voice sounds different than Nagito’s ever heard it and the way he talks like he doesn’t understand even though the answer to his question is already obvious unsettles Nagito and he becomes nervous, staring with careful concern back at him, trying to figure out why he’s acting so strangely.
”No, I don’t. I’m sorry if it should have been obvious, I just can’t figure it out. I don’t know why you invited me,” Nagito says again, a little lost about why Izuru feels the need to ask him but willing to give the obvious answer anyway, if it helps him at all.
“…oh,” Izuru says after a long pause, the reply firm and steady and yet feeling like it hides away what he really wants to say. Nagito feels uneasy when Izuru looks off to the side, away from Nagito, in a way Nagito doesn’t think he’s ever seen before.
Alternatively: Izuru had been pleased when Nagito agreed to go on a date with him. Until he realized that Nagito hadn’t known they were on a date at all. He doesn’t know what he did wrong or how to fix it. But he won’t let that stop him from trying anyway.
