Loid takes a sharp inhale, mesmerized by her sparkling wine eyes burning a hole in his bottom lip.
"Is that normal," she breathes, barely audible.
"That's normal," Loid assures back. It's not. Nothing about this, about them, is normal.
Yor nods, the tiniest movement of her head, eyes never leaving his lips. "Does it ever go away?" she asks, innocently. Like this could be an illness, a temporary affliction that will pass out of her system.
Loid exhales slowly. "God I hope not."
Or, in this alternate universe, Twilight and Thorn Princess meet long before Loid and Yor. Circumstances around them shape their lives in ways they never expected.

“Uh-huh.” Franky waves his goggles around as if to make a point. “And yet you have no problem dragging me on a stakeout—on a Friday night, by the way—just to make sure no funny business is happening with your wife.”
