By sunrise, I had ghostwritten three love letters and a eulogy. None of them were mine.
"Hindi mo kailangang magsinungaling para mabuhay," Gyu said quietly, watching me dig through old drafts like I was looking for something I'd lost.
"Sino may sabi?" I didn't look up. My throat was dry. "Kasi kung kaya ko maging totoo, matagal ko nang ginawa. Pero hindi lahat ng tao may luxury for that. Some of us don't get to have a voice and keep it. I sold mine. That's how I eat."
