Summary
5 years after the destruction of Filament Station, and Simon's capture, Simon is sent down into the blood ocean that is AT-5 to find... something. With his reward being his freedom. He agrees to it to go back home to Ryland, who has been patiently waiting for him to return back to Eden.
Simon completes his mission, and he even kills the servant of the blood ocean. He believes he's died, too, as a result. He accepts that he'll never return to Ryland, and that Ryland will never know he's dead. That is, until he wakes up in a prison cell, unsure of where he is.
And why does he see this figure that resembles Ryland?
OR Simon completes his mission in the blood ocean and believes he died. Ryland makes a surprise appearance as a hazy figure, and makes Simon believe he's gone EXTRA crazy.
