Summary
After the events of season four, Hawkins was forced into a military quarantine. But when the prying eyes and concerned glances of family members start to raise suspicion outside of the small town, the military decides to make an exception. For only the week of Christmas, a select group of individuals will be allowed into Hawkins to visit loved ones. This group happens to include some of Jonathan’s California friends. Nancy isn’t quite prepared when she realizes some of these friends are very beautiful, and very interested in her boyfriend.

Summary
Nancy doesn’t know how to help him, how to fix this. All his anger, his melancholy had lived with him for so long that he had turned them into the labour of everyday life. Something inherent and unavoidable like breathing. Jonathan’s loneliness, his isolation were planted in him before he even knew what they were, the roots seeping into his very core. Nancy doesn’t know how to weed them out. She doesn’t know how to save him.
