Summary
Sharp, rounded claws emerged from the tips of Mister Ancunín’s fingers, much like her own when drawn out—only larger, by a modest margin. He ran his index finger along the bark in one long, smooth line. It caught at a small unevenness, in a way Tara knew stimulated the senses most pleasantly. Mister Ancunín drew a surprised breath, freed the claw from the easily molded wood, and shook his hand in disbelief. Then he stormed away.
Ungrateful humanoid, their guest was. How could he fail to appreciate the rapturous joy of the Oak Scratchwood?

Summary
He can’t ask Gale for help. Gale might have the best chance of finding any sort of cure to his current undesirable condition, but he doesn’t want to turn to him. Something about being vulnerable and in need in front of Gale grates at Astarion’s mind.
He isn’t accustomed to anyone standing up for him like this, not without wanting something in return. And the thought that he could, just for once, lean into that—lean on him—sits uncomfortably close to tempting.

Summary
Gale turned out to be a lovely surprise.
Obedient, easy to please, very ingenious when it comes to his mouth. And perhaps the best part was that he was willing to let Astarion utilize that mouth together with any and all of his powers, be it in battle or otherwise, needing only the smallest of gestures on Astarion’s part.
Perhaps Gale knew he would be generously rewarded for his efforts. And perhaps he truly wished for Astarion’s well-being. He wouldn’t complain either way.
He could spend hours with his new toy, playing and tying and tugging at all the right spots to make Gale cry out in pleasure.
But not once did he kiss him.

Summary
Their anniversary is approaching, and Astarion is nervous.
After marrying, growing close, and learning more about each other—now, almost a year later, they somehow don't spend enough time together.
So, it seems another roguish lesson is due to remind Gale of what he's been missing out on. One should always strive to learn more, shouldn't they?

At its heart, though, this is a story about love.

Summary
"First," said Gale. "Do not kill any thinking creatures in Waterdeep unless you must to protect yourself or you have my express permission."
As Gale spoke, he could feel the weight of his words sinking into the person sitting across from him. It was like casting a spell, but took no effort. Astarion had been staring hollowly into his goblet of blood, but at this he made a faintly interested noise. As if the rule were novel and he was considering the shape of it.
"Second, you will obey me in all things," said Gale. There didn't feel like there was any honest way of softening that. Astarion didn't make any sound at all.
"Third, do not leave the tower without permission." Astarion made another speculative noise, considering this one too. But then his shoulders hunched and his eyes skittered down, as if he didn't want to look at what was about to happen.
"Fourth," Gale said, and paused. He started with some context: "There is a tressym upstairs."
Astarion's head twitched. He looked up at Gale, blinking, startled. He had the air of someone who had been bracing for a blow and instead had just been handed a balloon animal.
"A what?" he asked.
