Summary
The awkward shuffle of their feet and the weight of In-ho’s body against his conjures a memory from days earlier. Legs cuffed together, arms linked, Young-il’s body, warm and solid, pressed close to his own, a constant presence through the fear, and exhilaration, and victory.
Gi-hun had felt something tighten in his chest when their fingers brushed together; had felt a fluttering in his stomach when their legs swung out as one; had felt warmth, everywhere, when Young-il smiled for him in a way he never seemed to smile for the others. It was just a hint of connection, or perhaps friendship.
Or affection.
All of it had been a lie. All of it, a betrayal.
s3 alternate ending, and the fallout. Gi-hun and the baby escape the game with Inho’s help, but the consequences of his hero game follow them off the island. They find themselves injured and on the run, with an infant to care for, and only Jun-ho to trust.
